SPRING CAPITAL

Estonia’s Spring Capital Türi is memorable for its beautiful domestic gardens, parks, well-maintained avenues, and artificial lake. Green space covers a third of the town’s area. The streets are lined with green walks. The townspeople pay great attention to caring for their domestic gardens.
Every year, the traditional garden market takes place in Türi; a new undertaking to attract visitors is the Türi Spring Festival, with an emphasis on classical music and the environment.

To discover the town on your own, a travel package called “Take a Train to Türi” has been developed. Visitors can use a map to make a tour of the town and read interesting information from almost thirty information stands. The hundred-year-old Türi railway station, which suffered during the war, has been renovated and turned into a modern travel center.

The Pärnu River flows through Türi. An artificial lake has been established in a beautiful spot on the eastern edge of town. The banks of the lake are covered with sand and are surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The Shore Park is located next to the lake. The park is thought to be over 200 years old and apparently belonged to the former rectory.

The Türi Museum is located in the area where the development of the Town of Türi started in 1900. The Museum introduces the history of Türi. The permanent exhibition includes the story of the Türi railway, and the pulp and paper mill. One can also get an overview of bygone industry and small enterprise, of which the brick factory, sewing workshop, and women’s hairdresser could be highlighted.
The Estonian Broadcasting Museum is also located in Türi. The Museum’s permanent exposition and temporary exhibits introduce the history of radio and television from the first broadcast until today.
